The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (The Global Fund) was set up to accelerate the end of epidemics such as AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. A partnership of governments, civil society, the private sector and people affected by the diseases, it supports programmes run by local experts in countries and communities most in need. A total of 65% of the USD4 billion that the Global Fund mobilises each year is dedicated to sub-Saharan Africa.
