Upskilling Red Cross leaders

March 29, 2019

Ecobank has provided a training course to upskill 150 IFRC leaders and enable more effective community impact.

The Ecobank Academy has provided a training course to 150 senior leaders of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to strengthen their management skills in their vital work helping local communities. IFRC participants from 45 African countries attended the three-day ‘IFRC Africa Region Leadership Forum’.

The content of the training course was specially designed to improve the IFRC leaders’ abilities to devise solutions to the challenges that they face.

Utilising the world-class training abilities of the Ecobank Academy, which is one of the largest capability development centres in Africa, the participants have received training on a wide range of leadership skills including partnership management, risk management, sustainability, integrity and transparency, and how to harness the benefits and opportunities of digitization.

The training follows the signing of an agreement between Ecobank and the IFRC in November 2018.
