A new training programme delivered through the Ecobank Academy that will ensure investments in health are managed efficiently and effectively.
The Ecobank Foundation and Ecobank Academy collaborated with the Global Fund to open the doors of the Academy in Lomé, Togo, to train The Global Fund’s grant implementers.
The ethos behind the training programme is to equip financial practitioners with the administrative and management skills necessary to manage donor funds. This will help them play a vital role in building quality, resilient and strong health systems by ensuring that all of the development funds – CFA Francs, Dollars and Euros – are used efficiently and accountably to maximise impact.
The training programme was co-designed by the Ecobank Academy and The Global Fund with support from leading organisations in financial management, leadership, knowledge management and project execution. Finance managers from Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Niger, Senegal and Togo will be the first beneficiaries of the academy’s training.
The Academy will further The Global Fund’s fight against the epidemics of HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, which are all too prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa.
