The Ecobank Foundation has renovated three classrooms that were in a state of disrepair and no longer suitable for teaching at the Djagblé Primary School in Togo.
The need for the classrooms’ renovation was brought to the Foundation’s attention during its 2022 Ecobank Day during which 800 women from the association Femmes Vaillantes pour le Développement Association in Djagblé received training on financial education.
“During the rainy season, the pupils had to be split between the other classes, preventing teachers from continuing their lessons” said Mrs Gbegbe, President of the Association.
During the inauguration ceremony following the refurbishment of the classrooms, Elisa Desbordes, Chief Executive Officer of the Ecobank Foundation, said: “We are very honoured to be able to work alongside the association Femmes Vaillantes pour le Développement to renovate these classrooms, in line with the government’s strategic roadmap. This project is crucial to improving education. We very much hope that the construction of these classrooms will help to improve teaching and learning for the children here.”
