Ecobank Day 2025: Enabling Inclusive Learning for All

October 11, 2025

Ecobank Day 2025 brought together Ecobankers across Africa to promote inclusive learning for all through technology. This focus reflected Ecobank’s belief that technology can be an enabler of learning and teaching so that every child should have the support needed to learn and thrive.

This year marked the final stage of Ecobank’s three-year “Transforming Africa Through Education” campaign. Since 2023, the initiative has helped thousands of children and young people build digital skills and has supported the installation of new IT laboratories in schools across several countries.

As part of its anniversary year, the Ecobank Foundation set three key objectives: establishing 40 IT laboratories, training 40,000 children and young people in digital and AI-related skills, and ensuring that children with disabilities were fully included. The Foundation exceeded its targets, successfully establishing 66 IT laboratories and training 46,414 children and young people.

To open the programme, the Ecobank Foundation hosted a webinar in partnership with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) on how technology can remove barriers to inclusive education. Experts shared practical insights on the role of innovation, AI, assistive technology and digital platforms in supporting learners with disabilities.

Across its network, Ecobank teams organised awareness sessions, demonstrations and workshops to help children explore how digital tools and AI can support their learning in inclusive and supportive environments.

At Group level, the activities carried out in Lomé illustrated how children with disabilities engaged with digital and AI learning tools. Children also enjoyed a range of recreational activities, from ceci-foot and Goalball to pottery, chess and African board games.

Ecobank Day 2025 reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to expanding access to quality education across Africa and to ensuring that all children, whatever their circumstances, have the opportunity to learn with confidence and dignity.
