To celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Nana Araba Abban - Ecobank’s Group Executive, Consumer Banking - explains why it’s important that we get more women into STEM careers.
Women currently only account for 28% of the workforce in STEM fields. As a result, the Ecobank Foundation is working with the Global Partnership for Education to redress this gender inequality.
We have launched our ‘Bias No More’ video series, featuring leaders from government, civil society and the private sector – all sharing their ideas and insights on why empowering girls and young women into highly rewarding STEM careers benefits not only them, but also economic growth in Africa that will be inclusive and sustainable for all.
