Ecobank Foundation CEO marks World Malaria Day 2017
Over 90% of malaria deaths occur in Sub-Saharan Africa today. The disease is putting an enormous strain on health systems and communities across the continent.
To mark World Malaria Day 2017 and Ecobank Foundation’s unfaltering support in the fight against this disease our CEO, Julie Essiam, shared her ambitions for a malaria-free Africa on Project Syndicate. In collaboration with Joy Phumaphi, Executive Secretary of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance, the article highlights what needs to be done by governments and the private sector to combat malaria.
